On the eve of the 35th anniversary of June 4, members of the China Democratic Party in the United States held flash mobs at the United Nations headquarters, Times Square and other places in New York. Participants shouted slogans such as "Don't forget June 4", "Down with the Communist Party", and "Release all political prisoners", calling for the overthrow of the CCP's tyranny.
In order to mourn the martyrs who died in Tiananmen Square 35 years ago, Chinese democracy activists in the United States held June 4 commemorations in New York for many days in a row.
Following the rally and parade held in Flushing, Queens, New York City on Sunday (2nd), and the performance of the "Assassination of Xi Jinping" action drama, they launched flash mobs in front of many famous landmarks in New York on Monday afternoon, hoping to reveal the truth of the June 4 incident and the nature of the CCP's tyranny.
The flash mob on Monday included famous New York landmarks such as the United Nations Headquarters, Times Square, the World Trade Center site, Wall Street, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Central Park. Participants first gathered in front of the United Nations Headquarters, and then split into more than 10 groups to flash mobs in front of other landmarks.
Members of the China Democratic Party who participated in the flash mob held up banners such as "Commemorate June 4th", "Freedom Belongs to the People, China Belongs to the People", and "Eliminate the Communist Bandits", and shouted slogans such as "Xi Jinping Step Down" and "Down with the Chinese Communist Party". As the Beijing authorities have increased their control over Hong Kong and intimidated Taiwan in recent years, the flash mob crowd also shouted slogans such as "Free Hong Kong" at the event site, and some participants held up banners that read "Chinese People Oppose Invasion of Taiwan".
On June 4, 1989, a large number of students and citizens demonstrated peacefully in Beijing's Tiananmen Square, demanding democratic reforms and opposing corruption. However, the authorities dispatched troops and tanks to carry out a bloody and violent crackdown on the people. The incident shocked the international community.
Wang Juntao, co-chairman of the China Democratic Party, gave a speech at the parade on Sunday, pointing out that many people standing here did not know the Tiananmen martyrs, and were not even born at the time, but still stood up every year to commemorate them. He said: "Although we have different experiences in this world and we come from different parts of China, all those who stand here...they are victims of the Communist Party's tyranny.
